Pentas Moulding B.V. utilizes FOOKE's advanced milling technology to achieve a 50% reduction in machining time for aluminum mold production.​

Since early 2023, the first compact gantry milling machine from FOOKE's new ENDURA® 400LINEAR series has been producing high-precision molds in Pentas Moulding B.V.'s in-house tooling department. This new acquisition marks a first for both companies. The Pentas team employs their new 5-axis gantry milling machine to achieve the required surface quality in manufacturing aluminum molds for rotational molding. This provides Pentas, an experienced specialist in rotational molds, with a significant advantage. From planning and design to the creation of milling programs, Pentas produces intricate aluminum molds. A modern milling machine, like the one supplied by FOOKE, is essential for meeting high-quality standards and achieving excellent geometries. The introduction of the ENDURA® 411LINEAR opens new possibilities and competitive advantages: large molds can now be produced in a single piece, eliminating individual production and assembly steps. This not only saves time but also gives Pentas a unique selling point in the industry. Additionally, their extensive experience and expertise in this field significantly contribute to reducing downtime.

With the right expertise and the application of innovative manufacturing technologies, we achieved a noticeable optimization of the existing process in collaboration with the client. Through this close, cooperative partnership and the use of cutting-edge technologies, we not only drastically reduced machining times but also provided the client with a future-proof turnkey solution.

FOOKE’s plate milling machine stands out thanks to its exceptionally large tool diameter and low-vibration cutter head—up to 3,000 mm—specifically developed for machining aluminum plates.

This technology enables faster processing and ensures high precision when working with aluminum parts, regardless of the alloy.

A key highlight is the ability to efficiently machine aluminum plates up to 200 mm thick and 6,000 mm long. The ENDURA® 825 planing mill not only shortens machining times but also increases productivity through optimized workflows and enhanced safety management.

After years of using conventional methods, the customer decided to replace an older machine with a state-of-the-art ENDURA® 5-axis gantry milling machine from FOOKE. In our technology center, innovative milling strategies were developed and fine-tuned in close cooperation with the customer's application engineers.

With advanced tooling and customized milling strategies, we were able to reduce machining time by up to 50%. The customer expanded its machine fleet and successfully implemented special projects, further increasing production efficiency.

  • Optimized tool selection & durability: Over 3 tons of aluminum were machined to determine the best tool for minimal cutting forces and extended tool life.
  • Fully automated workflow: Aluminum ingots in six different sizes are automatically loaded, milled from six sides, measured, and integrated into the ERP system.
  • Adaptive feed control: Variable material allowances? No problem—our system adjusts the feed rate dynamically to ensure consistent spindle load.
  • Minimal material loss: Automated pre-measurement ensures only the necessary material is removed—efficient and sustainable.
  • Integrated quality assurance: Surface irregularities are automatically detected, and the NC program optimizes cutting passes and depths accordingly.
